LIT - Linz Institute for Technology - Career Accelerator Projects

Information: We invite researchers (who have already obtained a PhD degree) to submit project proposals for funding under the JKU LIT program. JKU LIT focuses on excellent, practically-oriented research in all areas of science and technology along the entire innovation chain. The emphasis is on High Risk – High Gain projects. JKU LIT encourages collaboration, particularly with a focus on interdisciplinary research.
JKU LIT is not meant to be a funding agency in its own rights. Rather, it is meant to provide seed money to encourage excellent research with the final goal of obtaining external funding.
Funding covers: A Young Career Project may fund the PI and/or 1-2 PhD student/s (30hrs/wk) for up to 2 years.
Eligibility: Early Career Researchers (PhD obtained within last 5 years or longer if reasonably justifiable) of any nationality.

Information: Film Academy Ohrid is pleased to announce that is opening its second round of applications and is offering 5 scholarships per department for master programs of: Screenwriting, Creative Producing, Directing (only 1 place left), Cinematography, and Post Production: Picture & Sound.
FIOFA is a new film academy, situated in Ohrid. It continues in the long tradition of the Prague Film and TV School (FAMU), the fifth oldest film school in the world. FAMU’s graduates include many influential filmmakers and screenwriters, many known within international context as Oscar winners or laureates of international film festivals.
Funding covers: The tuition fee of 9000 euros is covered by the Ministry of Education & Science.
Eligibility: Undergraduate students from any major are eligible to apply.

Information: Following the Protocol concluded between the Foundation for Science and Technology, the L'Oréal Portugal and the UNESCO National Commission in November 2003, opens tender for allocation of four medals of Honor L'Oreal Portugal for women in science. The Medals of Honor L'Oréal Portugal for Women in Science were created to support the development of scientific advanced studies (post-doctoral level) in Portuguese institutions in the field of Health and Environmental Sciences.
Funding covers: €15,000 in a single provision
Eligibility: Young women researchers (up to 35 years), holding a PhD for less than 5 years. Applicants who have children can request the extension (1 year for each child) beyond the eligible age and period after completion of PhD previously indicated. The application must include the identification documents (scanned) of their respective children.
Submissions containing original scientific research proposals must be submitted in the period from 29 may 2017 and 28 July 2017 (5pm local time). Applications can be made in either English or Portuguese language, using the electronic application form available at: http://www.fct.pt/apoios/premios/loreal/2017/formulario including the following documents:
Curriculum vitæ with detailed list of scientific publications;
Letter of recommendation from the Scientific Advisor (scanned);
Identity card or cards (scanned);

Information: Georg Forster Research Award is open to distinguished researchers from transition and developing countries.
Fundamental discoveries, new theories or insights which have had a long-term impact on the field – these are the achievements for which the Humboldt Foundation honours outstanding, internationally-recognised researchers from transition and developing countries with the Georg Forster Research Award. Nominations may be made for experts of all disciplines whose research has generated approaches to solving the challenges facing developing and transition countries.
Nominations must be submitted by a collaborative partner in Germany with whom nominees may conduct a research project of their own choice. Researchers working at German universities or research institutions are eligible to submit nominations.
Funding covers: The award is valued at €60,000. Further funding of up to €25,000 may be made available for conferences, material resources or scientific equipment.
Eligibility: Experienced researchers from all disciplines in transition and developing countries.
