Information: Between 2013 and 2018 the International Post-Doc Initiative (IPODI) of the Technische Universität Berlin awards 21+5 two-year fellowships to international female researchers in three internationally open calls. IPODI is part of an initiative (Wissenschaftlerinnen an die Spitze) that aims at increasing the number of women in leadership positions. IPODI addresses outstanding female researchers regardless of their nationality or age and is open to applications from all fields of research represented at the TU Berlin.

Information: The purpose of the scholarship programme is to provide opportunities for postdoctoral researchers in Africa to pursue their own research projects, thereby indirectly strenghtening the academic milieux in African countries.
The scholarship offers access to the Institute's library and other resources that provide for a stimulating research environment. The programme is directed at postdoctoral researchers based in Africa and engaged in Africa-oriented research within the discipline of in Social Sciences and Humanities.

DAAD Graduate Scholarships in the Humanities and the Social Sciences

For applicants from Sub-Saharan African countries with an excellent academic record the DRD offers a limited number of DAAD merit scholarships per year.
Scholarships are available for full-time students of the MA in Development Studies (next deadline 15 July 2017, online application will be available from mid April 2017 only)

African Guest Researcher Scholarship Programme at the Nordic Africa Institute

Information: This research Scholarship Programme is directed at scholars in Africa engaged in research on/about the African continent and with a proven track record of extensive research experience.
Applications are invited from scholars with research projects related to current thematic research clusters at the Institute:
- Agrarian Change, Property and Resources
- Conflict, Displacement and Transformation
- Globalization, Trade and Regional Integration
- Urban Dynamics
Applicants are requested to identify within what cluster their project fits best and to motivate the identification.
Eligibility: The applicant should be placed at or affiliated with an African university or other African research institution.
Women are especially encouraged to apply for these research scholarships.
Funding covers: The Guest Researchers' scholarship includes a return air-fare (economy class), accommodation, a subsistence allowance of SEK (Swedish kronor) 300 (approx. USD 45) a day plus an installation grant of SEK 2,500 (approx. USD 370), a shared office and free photocopying facilities up to a maximum of 1,000 copies.
Guest Researchers have access to a computer/MS Word at the office and have to do their own typing.
The maximum duration of the stay is 90 days. To be entitled to a refund of the travel costs, the Guest Researcher has to stay for at least two months.
Please note that most academic institutions in the Nordic countries, including the Nordic Africa Institute, are closed or at least running at a reduced capacity during the periods 15 June–15 August and 15 December–15 January. Applicants are thus asked not to choose these periods for their visit.
The Institute’s library is specialized in literature on contemporary Africa and focuses on Social Sciences.
Guest Researchers also have access to the Uppsala University Library, including their online resources, and to the Library of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

Information: The International “Severo Ochoa” Postdoctoral Program of the Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is advertising four postdoctoral positions, to start in the second half of 2017. We are looking for highly talented and motivated scientists interested in modern, multidisciplinary plant sciences, encompassing experimental, bioinformatic and theoretical approaches.
